Danny Melville sponsored polo contests on Saturdays at his polo field in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, in the early 1980s. Polo players took the ponies swimming in Mammee Bay's pristine saltwater on Sundays to help them relax. International polo players, as well as Danny's children, adored the custom. Danny decided to complement his polo and equestrian center for locals with a chance for tourists to meet horses when he built it in 1983. The company's launch pad was the mix of a gorgeous ride along a spectacular coast and an exciting swim on horseback. The Horseback Ride 'N' Swim was created—the first adventure tour of its kind in Jamaica, and still our most popular tour thirty years later.
Dolphin Cove has a natural cove which is surrounded by 5 acres of lush tropical rain forest. Visitors have the opportunity to interact and swim with jamaican dolphins in their natural environment while enjoying the thrill and love of these amazing marine mammals.
